Following up yesterday’s post about Comment Relish, I wanted to show you how to make a personalized Comment Relish message. A well written message will not only increase interaction between you and your readers, but it will also increase the popularity of your feed, the amount of comments you recieve, and your site’s popularity. So without further ado, let me show you how to make a personalized comment relish message.

Four Elements of a Good Message

A good and personalized comment relish message is composed of 4 elements.

Greeting

First of all, you want to greet your readers with a friendly and upbeat greeting. A simple “Hi” just won’t do, so you want to make sure your greet your reader and portray how important their comment was to you. To make this message personal, you want to be sure to use their name (using the tags in the plugin).

Ex: “Hey NAME. I’m Tushar Dhoot from Tushar Dhoot dot COM, and I would like to thank you for your comment on my blog. I genuinely appreciate comments like yours on my blog, and I hope you will continue to do so.

Incentive

You should give your readers an incentive to comment again on your blog, and you should make sure they know what it is. For example, I clearly point out my comment follow policy, which means that I will always try and visit the site of everyone who comments on this blog. I make sure to include this in my message, as it may entice some people to come back and comment more. Personalize this part by using the comment relish tag to include their website in your message.

Ex: “I have a 100% comment follow policy at Tushar Dhoot dot Com. This means that I will try my best to go and visit the site of everyone who comments on this blog. Don’t be surprised if you see me on SITENAME very soon.

Connection

Give your readers a little connection in the message and make them feel like you’re there for them. Show your readers that you’re friend, not a stranger. After all, you’d rather read about a friend making money online than a complete stranger, right? Personalize this part by including your email or contact information in the message so they won’t hesitate to contact you. This can be great for networking too, because you’ll make a new contact everytime someone does contact you.

Ex: “I also wanted to share my email address with you, which is EMAIL ADDRESS. Do not hesitate to contact me for any reason at all, whether you comments or questions. I usually respond to all emails within 24 hours, and I would love to get to know you!

Convert

This is the part you’ve all been waiting for, the conversion. This part should go at the end of the post, so readers don’t feel like it’s pushed on them. You also want to make the text suggestive, but not pushy, so they’ll get your message. I currently use this section push my rss feed, which is the biggest deal for me at this blog at the time. You can use it, however, to grow your twitter, rss feed, social networking, and even your newsleter.

Ex: “I would also like to tell you about my RSS feed. If you liked my content and want to read more, I highly recommend you subscribe to the feed. It will send all my latest content straight to your feed reader or inbox. Click on the following link to subscribe: FEEDLINK

Conclusion

So there you have it. How to make a personalized comment relish message that will interact with your readers and also increase conversions. Use this and see if it works for your site, and tell me more about it in the comments section. Remember, if you want to see my personalized message, leave a comment and you’ll have it sent to your inbox!

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Tushar, I had been wanting to get over here to your blog to let you know how I value your posts that you write. You have a talent for writing, and writing with what seems like ease. I also had wanted to tell you that I value your comments, they are always right on and you really do put your personal touch to each and every comment. So when I got here I find this post and realize that you also have a talent for marketing your comments… I really appreciate your emails, comments, and I enjoy reading your post. I find it very hard to believe that you are only in High School. You have a great blog here. Thanks
